A different colour can change the whole garden.
Your fence is the backdrop to the space you use outside. A fresh finish can bring it together with the house, paving and planting. We offer fence painting in Dundalk and nearby areas, with the address, fence condition and scope confirmed when you enquire.
Start with photographs of the whole run and a closer look at the timber. Say whether you want the existing colour refreshed or something different. You can ask before you have chosen a colour.
Tell us which fence you want painted
Include the approximate length and height, the number of panels and whether one side or both sides are in the scope. Show posts, rails, trellis or gates separately if you want them considered. A fence beside a shared passage needs a different access conversation from an open run across the back garden.
This page is about painting an existing fence. New fencing, replacement posts and structural repairs need a separate assessment and arrangement. Coating loose or decayed timber does not put the underlying problem right.
The timber and existing coating come first
Show flaking paint, weathered sections, green growth and places that stay damp. Mention any previous treatment you know about. The timber and existing finish affect preparation and the choice of compatible coating; they cannot always be identified from a wide photograph.
Send close-ups of the timber and its existing finish so we can discuss the preparation. The chosen product instructions set the conditions, preparation and drying requirements for the actual job.
Choose the finish around your garden
Look at the fence with the house walls, windows, paving and plants. A colour on a small chart can look different across a whole boundary. Try a suitable sample on the actual timber before deciding, taking the previous finish into account.
Tell us the colour you have in mind and whether you want the timber grain to remain visible. Include a photo of the current finish so we can discuss suitable options for your fence.
Make room for preparation and drying
Show planting, sheds, furniture and narrow spaces beside the fence. Agree what needs clearing or protecting and who can arrange access to each side. Include any neighbouring surfaces that could be affected.
Outside work needs suitable conditions for the selected coating. Mention your preferred timing, allowing for drying and changes in the weather. A preferred date does not make damp timber ready to paint.
What affects a fence painting quote?
The length and height are only part of the scope. The sides included, condition, previous treatment, access, preparation and finish all matter. Ask what materials, protection and clearing are included before comparing quotes.
For your quote, send the approximate fence length and height, your area and a few photos. Say whether you want one or both sides painted. An assessment may be needed before a price can be finalised.
House walls on your list too?
List the fence and walls separately so each surface gets the right assessment. See exterior house painting in Dundalk for elevations, render and access planning.
Tell us about your fence, send your area and a few photographs. Check the areas we consider before arranging access. Coverage and availability are confirmed for your address.
Let’s talk about your fence painting project.
Send a few photos, your area and what you have in mind. We can discuss the scope and whether a visit is needed for a quote.
