Start with the outside you have.
A front elevation can need a fresh colour while the sides and rear need more preparation. Show us the full house and the areas that concern you. We can discuss a complete exterior repaint or selected walls, with the included surfaces agreed before work starts.

Thinking about repainting outside?
Send a wider view of the house, close-ups of any problem areas and your location. We can discuss preparation, access and the finish.
The surface matters as much as the colour
Painted render, textured pebbledash and existing exterior woodwork need their own assessment. Include close-ups of peeling paint, cracks, loose material or green growth. A quote should identify the preparation and the finish for the actual surface.
Cleaning, stabilising and coating choices depend on the condition and the selected paint system. They should be agreed after assessment. Painting does not resolve the cause of recurring damp, structural cracks or loose render.
Send close-up photos of the render or pebbledash, especially any cracks, loose areas or flaking paint, so we can discuss the preparation needed for your quote.
Weather and timing
An outside job needs suitable conditions for the chosen coating and enough time for preparation and drying. Tell us when you hope to have the work done, while allowing for weather to affect the schedule.
Mention walls that stay shaded or take the brunt of the weather. The useful next step is to assess the property and discuss the system, rather than promising a fixed finish date from photos alone.
If the property is exposed near the coast
Tell the team which elevations receive wind-driven rain, salt exposure or persistent shade where these affect your house. Show recurring staining, flaking and lower-wall defects. A coastal location alone does not determine a paint system; the substrate, condition and selected manufacturer's instructions need to be considered together.
Ask how cleaning, preparation and any necessary repair are assessed for those surfaces. Do not assume a stabiliser, sealer or the same preparation method is required on every wall. Agree the actual system after assessment.
Organising a spring or seasonal repaint
Use the planning period to collect elevation photos, list defects, discuss access and compare colour samples. Identify planting, parked vehicles, shared passages or other work that may affect the working area. Agree who clears or protects each item.
A preferred week is a planning request, not a reason to coat an unsuitable surface or ignore product weather conditions. Confirm how changes will be communicated and how the property will be left if the programme is interrupted. We can talk through the surfaces, preparation and access, then confirm what is included in your quote.
Whole house or selected surfaces?
Name the front, rear, gable and extension walls separately. Include window surrounds, sills or exterior woodwork if you want those considered. Boundaries, gates, gutters and outbuildings need to be listed rather than assumed.
Roofing, gutter replacement, rendering and door replacement are separate scopes. List the surfaces you want painted so those boundaries are clear.
Access is part of the quote
Send photos showing the height of each elevation, side passages, extensions and the ground below. Mention conservatories, narrow access, parked vehicles or anything that could affect reaching the walls.
Agree suitable access arrangements, whether equipment is needed, and who provides it before booking. Let us know where there are neighbouring boundaries or shared access to consider.
Choosing the exterior colour
Look at the walls alongside the roof, window frames, front door and neighbouring materials. Compare physical samples outside before deciding. A lighter wall with a different door colour can change the feel of the whole frontage.
Have a colour in mind? Send a photo of your house and any examples you like. Include the walls, window surrounds and other details you would like painted.
What goes into the price?
- The elevations, surface area and texture to be painted.
- Existing paint condition and agreed preparation.
- Height, access and equipment arrangements.
- The paint system, colours and included details.
- Protection of windows, paths and nearby surfaces.
Send photos and your area to begin. A site visit may be needed to assess the walls and access. Ask for the included surfaces, preparation, materials and exclusions to be clear in the quote.
Have a particular finish in mind? Ask the team about relevant work examples when you enquire.
Include the garden fence in your plans
List the fence separately from the house walls so its timber, existing finish and access get their own assessment. Explore fence painting in Dundalk for the details to send.
Let’s talk about your exterior painting project.
Send a few photos, your area and what you have in mind. We can discuss the scope and whether a visit is needed for a quote.
